Getting to Fish Tail Lodge by Annapurna is part of the experience. The peaceful boat ride across Pokhara Lake, with hills and mountains reflected in the calm water, made it feel like arriving at a hidden retreat. The lodge is surrounded by greenery, with breathtaking views of the Annapurna range and iconic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Its lakeside and riverside setting is calm and full of nature, great for relaxing and getting away from daily life. The rooms are spacious, clean, and elegant, with classic charm and comfort. Staff were exceptionally warm, courteous, and attentive throughout my stay. The food was excellent, and having breakfast with mountain views was unforgettable. Fish Tail Lodge is a memorable mix of luxury, nature, and authentic Nepali hospitality. Highly recommended for a visit to Pokhara.

I came for dinner with my parents, and we loved all the food choices. Mr Surendra Thapa deserves a special mention for his exemplary hospitality and management. He made us feel so welcome. People remember how you make them feel, and I hope life gives him a little extra of the good he’s asked for.

My parents spent two nights at this hotel, and we were disappointed with the service and overall experience. Getting there felt inconvenient because guests have to travel by raft on arrival and again when leaving. It also left the hotel far from shops and restaurants, which wasn’t practical. My husband and I joined my parents for dinner on the first night. There were very few food choices, and the staff didn’t seem especially welcoming. It felt like other guests staying in the hotel were given priority, even though my parents were guests too. The restaurant was stuffy and hot. When my husband politely asked a waiter to open the window beside our table, he was told no because other guests might feel cold and complain. That felt dismissive and inconsiderate of our comfort. For the price, the hotel didn’t meet our expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Getting there by boat is unique and awesome, and the location is the place’s biggest plus. The rooms and service were good, the food was good, and the people were humble. My overall experience was good, and I can’t let one incident affect my whole rating. I’m a late sleeper, so at check-in I asked them to save my breakfast for the next day so I could eat later. They happily agreed, but the person who checked me in forgot to tell me that maintenance work was happening in the next room. The early morning hammering disturbed my sleep. If I’d known, I could have asked for another room.
