The rooms were decent, if not luxurious, but the staff were quick to respond and sort out any issues. I also got consistent hot water here, the only hotel during my whole stay in Nepal where it was properly hot, not just warm. It was a pleasant stay. A luxury label doesn't always mean good hospitality, and the kindness and genuine service here made the difference. I'd recommend it if you want to be comfortable and well treated.

The lobby at reception looked impressive, but the rest of the Vajra felt very poorly managed. Our small, shabby rooms had rickety, creaking beds. The hot water would stop running regularly, and the toilet flush didn't always work. My family, friends, and I were stuck there for two nights, and it was nearly an extended nightmare. The worst part was finding unsealed water bottles neatly set beside TVs that didn't work. That gave me the impression management was trying to fool guests. A really bad experience.

At checkout, he said we had to pay in Indian currency, even though he had quoted us the price in Nepali Currency.

The bathroom floor was too slippery, and the Wi-Fi wasn't working. The bottles labeled "mineral water" were filled with tap water. The photos are misleading, so I absolutely wouldn't recommend it. Most of the positive reviews seem to be from hotel staff. See the place for yourself before booking.
