The Mountain House

The family running Mountain House made me feel welcome and comfortable throughout my four-night stay, from arrival to checkout. They treat guests with real kindness and respect, and the rooms are clean and well cared for. It's close to Lakeside but still quiet and peaceful. I also really appreciated the hot showers. Their adorable, well-cared-for dog is an added bit of charm. A lovely place to come back to after a long trek, and one of my favourite stays in Nepal.

When I felt unwell after a trek and had to come back earlier than expected, Nabin and his family took great care of us. They also stored our luggage, which was a big help. The rooms are a good size, comfortable, and have good air conditioning. We had a hot water problem once that took a while to fix, though we had no trouble with it on the return stay. Nabin and his family were very kind and welcoming, and the place is good value, quiet, and close to everything in Pokhara.

The Mountain House was very clean, close to Lakeside, and a pleasant place to spend six days. Breakfast and snacks are available, and there's filtered water on every floor. The whole family made me feel welcome and looked after. They can offer suggestions for things to do when asked, without being pushy. One detail I especially appreciated: of all the hotels and guesthouses I've stayed in, this was the first and only one with a top sheet as well as a bottom sheet and quilt.

The spacious common area had a relaxed, cute feel, and breakfast was homemade. The rooms were clean and lovely, with big windows and plenty of room to organize gear. Nabin and his family welcomed me like family during my trekking trip to Nepal. They were always smiling, and I had such nice conversations with everyone. Nabin gave us lots of useful information about trails, guides, tea houses, and preparing for the changing weather, as well as recommendations for food and hiking. The whole family was so helpful and lovely. I can't wait to come back and stay here again.
