Namukulu Cottages

The people running the place are really nice and helpful, and the pool is lovely, with a small bar when it's open. The apartments have a well-equipped kitchen, grill, comfy bed, and screened windows, so you can sleep with the breeze and birdsong. There are a few sights and one restaurant within walking distance when it's open, but it's a bit out of town, so I'd recommend renting a car.

You get a lawn and pool area, good views, a barbecue, and a roomy kitchen. The rooms are nice, with air conditioning and plenty of fans. It's mostly self-service, which works for many people, but don't come expecting resort-style room service.

The tropical gardens are lovely to look out on from the large deck, and you can catch a glimpse of the ocean too. Each cottage has a Weber barbecue. Ours had no air conditioning, but two ceiling fans kept us comfortable in temperatures above 27 degrees. It's about 10 km from Alofi, with comfortable self-catering cottages. Jimbo and Wendy were friendly and ready to help, and manager Hana met us at the airport so we could get going with our rental car. A superb little paradise, nothing to grumble about. The cottages are close to some of the most beautiful rock pools, and I'd absolutely recommend staying here. Our room was in good condition, the staff were accommodating, and the pool area was beautiful. The views from the cottages were worth a million.
