My parents felt relaxed in the house, tucked among Niue's natural landscape and close to lots of good swimming spots. It was empty, so they could enjoy all the space. Since it hadn't been occupied for a while, it was a bit dusty and could have been cleaned more carefully. Still, it was good value overall, especially if value is what you're after.
We stayed for 10 days in April this year. The owner was friendly and the location was great, but Turtle Lodge was a letdown. The house was dusty enough that our one-year-old daughter had black hands and knees from crawling around. The lounge fan worked well, but the others were broken, clogged with dust, or rusty. The listing said there'd be a 42-inch TV, but there wasn't. The welcome book's two owner contact numbers didn't work. Thankfully the bins were changed, but our sheets weren't, which was appalling. The bathroom wasn't clean either, and there was a wet towel on the floor when we arrived. They did offer a cot and highchair, but both were dusty and the highchair was dirty. It felt like we'd been catfished because the place didn't match the description or photos. We left two days early and paid for accommodation elsewhere. If we'd been able to afford it, we'd have left sooner.
