The breakfast was epic, the bed and linens were comfortable, and the antiques around the house each have their own stories. Everything used in the house felt five-star level. Akaroa is a charming harbour town close to Christchurch, and our stay at Beaufort House was amazing from the start. Noel welcomed us with a sign bearing our names. At 6pm there were home-cooked canapés and free-flowing wine, and we got to chat and share experiences with Noel and the other guests staying that night. We’d only seen good reviews and booked through booking.com, so we wondered what a 10/10-rated place would actually be like. To sum up our experience, it was 10/10. We don’t know if we’ll ever leave another accommodation with a stronger impression. Beaufort House Akaroa is one of the best in the game.

Breakfasts and afternoon teas were delicious and generous, and Noel’s hospitality was warm and delightful. We had three blissful nights in January, a perfect Chch getaway. The property is ideally located in Akaroa and is a gorgeous destination in its own right. We can’t recommend Beaufort House highly enough.

Checking in, then spending the 6pm hour over wine and amazing appetizers while chatting with other travelers, was a special part of our stay. The food and wine were spectacular, and breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel, BNB, or anywhere like that. You can feel how much care Sharon and Noel put into the whole experience, with visitors’ comfort at the forefront. When I booked, Sharon sent dinner ideas, and when we arrived she was making a dinner reservation for another family staying there. The house is stunning and the gardens feel like a work of love. Each room has its own personality and is perfectly curated, with every touch thought through. Our room had a tub, and bubble bath and other accessories were easy to find. In Akaroa, Beaufort House is a 10-minute walk from just about everything. We left the car unused for the two nights we stayed, and the hosts make you feel loved and valued. Akaroa is amazing too. I first found Beaufort House on Google. We spent three weeks in New Zealand, and this stay, especially Sharon and Noel, will be a highlight we remember forever. If you’re reading this, BOOK NOW. Beaufort House is a gem not to be missed.

Sharon and Noel’s French/English-style place was charming, with spotless rooms and a picturesque setting. My girlfriend and I had a delightful stay at Beaufort House in beautiful Akora, New Zealand. The hosts were warm and attentive, and their personal service made it feel special. From the cosy atmosphere to the delicious breakfast spread, everything came across as genuinely caring.
