We got the best sleep of our holiday here. Our room had everything we needed and felt modern while keeping an old-world charm. The motel is cosy, tidy, comfortable, and elegant, tucked close to Arrowtown’s centre. Settlers Cottage Motel is a breath of fresh air amid New Zealand’s busy tourism scene, and Arrowtown has such a relaxed, classy, welcoming feel. Thank you, Jayne and Carl, and congratulations on the motel.

We only spent one night here with family, and I wish we could have stayed longer. The owners are warm, friendly, and easygoing, and made us feel welcome right away. The cottages are beautifully detailed inside and out, almost like being in a dream, and the design and upkeep are impressive. It was incredibly clean, too. A lovely little escape. If I’m back in New Zealand, I’ll visit Settlers Cottage in Arrowtown again.

Jane, Karl, Charlie, and Harriet made us feel so welcome. They checked in during the weekend without intruding, and shared lots of useful knowledge about the region and what was available. They even printed maps so we wouldn’t get lost. There were plenty of towels and linens, and the place had a relaxed, family feel.

Charlie the cat was a highlight, especially getting to cuddle him. The owners are lovely, and the rooms and porches have such a delightful style. It’s on a beautiful, quiet street, just a five-minute walk from the shops. Best motel ever. We’ll be back!

We’d happily stay again. The couple who run the place are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the location is great for Arrowtown. The rooms are spacious and well appointed.
