Spacious viaduct sancturary

The French toast at breakfast was the best I’ve ever had, and breakfast was included. The hotel’s only about a 2-minute walk from the harbour, and the nightly price seemed very reasonable. I found it through Google, where it was listed among Auckland’s best places to book. It looked just like the photos, and I loved the decor and colours. The bed was very comfortable, with a note offering a different pillow if the one provided wasn’t right for us. There was also a small couch beside it that I used for my stuff. One odd thing is that the bathroom and toilet share a glass sliding door, so you can’t really have one person showering while another uses the toilet, as the other side would be open. You can also see behind the glass, so I think it suits couples more than friends. Everything was clean, and the light buttons were flat, unlike in some other places. I struggled to turn the lights off and left them dimmed the first night. I didn’t figure it out until we were ready to check out, lols. Parking was $30, and it was strict, as parking is scarce in cities everywhere. I’d definitely come back. If you’re thinking of booking, don’t hesitate, it’s worth it. 10 stars! 🌟

The bathroom doesn’t offer much privacy, so we’d only come back without our child. Everything else was great, from the peaceful location and convenient parking to the comfortable, clean, nicely designed rooms. The turntable and vinyl records were a great touch, and the TV had free on-demand movies we hadn’t seen even in much pricier hotels in NZ. The complimentary welcome drink was lovely too. Every staff member we dealt with was absolutely amazing. They genuinely care and want guests to have a great experience.

As a business owner, I know some customers have everything go wrong, and this time I was that customer. I was really impressed by how the team handled all the disappointments, with kindness, understanding and compensation. The room was beautiful and the location fantastic, but the service was what really stood out.

The quirky decor is part of what Ohtel is about, and the room was clean, tidy and good. The location is brilliant, close to the marina and all the restaurants and bars. I didn’t have time to use the bikes, though it was a nice option. Luke general manager was especially helpful and accommodating. Nice stay, thank you.
