The Rutland Arms Inn

The restaurant serves really good food, though it can get busy, which is nice to see. There’s parking on site for hotel guests, and the hotel sits right in the old town centre. Our room was comfortable and well equipped, with a period feel. It made a lovely base for exploring the Art Deco high street.

Dinner and breakfast in the cozy ground-floor bar were both great. Our room was spacious, with high ceilings. There are only 8 rooms and no elevator, and the desk clerk also tends the bar. We were only there one night, so can't say much about the location beyond being in the old downtown shopping district. The parking area was very tight and hard to find, and there were no USB ports.

On a rainy day, the pub was warm and welcoming, and the wi-fi was fast. There were about 19 beers on tap, including plenty of local craft options, plus a wide range of spirits. My pasta was superb, with a really flavourful sauce; our friends' nachos came with lots of mince. Definitely worth stopping in if you're hungry or thirsty.

We’ve stayed in some country pubs, and this is about the best of them. The room was a good size and well equipped, and the continental breakfast was substantial. The bar and dining area were lovely, with great food and excellent service. It’s centrally located for a walk around town or by the river, and there’s free on-site parking. Faultless, highly recommended.
