We left feeling hugely disappointed. Although we’d read positive reviews and were looking forward to staying at Antria Boutique Lodge in Blenheim, we arrived to find a note saying the owners were away at a Christmas event. We were told to settle in and given a contact if we needed anything. They’d also said someone would prepare continental breakfast, but we’d already paid for a full breakfast. Zoe, who was polite and amenable while making breakfast, confirmed that a cooked breakfast was only offered when the owners were there. With the owners absent during our stay, there was no way to raise a complaint. The place has a shabby chic look and could be lovely, but the cleanliness and day to day management fell short. There were dead flowers, dirty duvets and mess throughout the property. We won’t be recommending this lodge to anyone visiting the area.

Caro and Hugh were fantastic hosts, and Antria Lodge felt warm and homely. We had an amazing stay. If you want to explore the beautiful Marlborough region, enjoy good food and wine, and have an unforgettable experience, this Lodge is for you.

Our time in Blenheim was lovely, and staying at Antria Lodge made it special. The setting was beautiful, and our room was comfortable and nicely decorated.

We loved this personal, welcoming place. We could look out over the pool and pick from several shaded spots to relax with a book, and I even managed to catch up on laundry, which helped a lot. The rooms are spacious, the decor is tasteful and the food is divine. Caro and Hugh make guests feel like friends visiting their wonderful home. This lodge ticks all the boxes!

We ended up leaving and finding somewhere else to stay in Picton. At 1000 NZ dollars a night, the price is laughable. We’ve stayed in many wonderful hotels around the world for less. The room wasn’t 4 star in any way, and the shared parts of the house were extremely cluttered. The kitchen looked dusty and unclean, the slippers had been worn, and there was only one bathrobe. The pool looked murky and dirty, and random things had been left all over the place.
