Gateway Motor Lodge

The hosts were kind and accommodating, and the rooms were warm, tidy, and nicely presented. It's easy to spot the place at the north end of Dannevirke. Highly recommended.

We needed five rooms at short notice, plus a four-day stay for one couple, and the owners were just perfect and friendly. Everything was spotless, and they looked after us well. Our room was cleaned and the linen changed every day. The beds were much more comfortable than I expected, and I slept easily without hearing the road traffic. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

For three adults needing two bedrooms, this Motel Unit had the most practical layout of any motel unit I stayed in while travelling around the North Island. It was exceptionally clean and nicely appointed. I can highly recommend it.

I paid for two units because I was told my sister and her two boys would need them, as there was only a double bed. Later, my sister found the couch folded out into a double bed and paid $20 for sheets for it. The sheets never arrived, so I didn't need two units after all.
