Stanley Apartments

The rooms were tidy and well equipped, and the beds were actually decent for a motel 😆. We were happy with the value. It took 5-10 minutes at most to drive from the accommodation to wherever we wanted to go. There was no couch and the TV was really, really slow, but otherwise it was really good!

The place is cold and dirty, with tiny flies everywhere. I get rid of them and a few hours later there are lots more. The toilet pipe seems to run outside and is open for some reason, and water leaks into the bathroom. The toilet seat doesn’t fit, and the bathroom door has no latch and leaves a gap you can see around. The kitchen drawers are filthy. There’s an oven but no trays, only two saucepans and a frying pan, and no proper utensils. The chopping board is melted, as if it was left on a hot hob. Half the hobs don’t work, so cooking is difficult. The kitchen is so small that the kettle blocks the microwave door, and you can’t use both at once. There’s only a thin duvet, no spare bedding or blankets, and one heater in the so-called living room, which has a single bed in it. There are barely any power sockets, and the bedside tables are across the room instead of beside the bed, so I can’t put my drink or phone on them. I wasn’t told until the day of my booking that check-in was ten minutes across town. Even for the price, the standards are very low. I’m extremely disappointed and wouldn’t recommend it.

We were there for work and got exactly what we wanted: quiet, tidy, comfortable accommodation with clean, comfortable beds. Service was exceptional, and it was such good value. Getting a yet 3 km down the road was no problem because the instructions made it clear. A couple of things to note: I couldn’t see a smoke alarm, and the TV in room 2 doesn’t work very well.

The shared Wi-Fi was used to cast pornography onto our TV while my young children were watching. It also seemed like some apartments were social housing, with people stomping around and coming and going at all hours. We left a day early.
