Ulster Apartments

A cool little unit, close to everything and right beside one of the main road links. I stay here quite often with my work crew, five males in one unit for a week.

We ended up having a really good stay, even though I was unsure at first after reading some reviews. The room was spacious, clean, and had all we needed, with comfy beds and a handy little kitchenette. The location was spot on, close to everything. We paid a $100 bond on arrival, which was better than the $200 we’d first been told. Check-in and check-out were at a nearby motel a few blocks away, which was fine. Now that I’ve stayed in the apartment, I can see why they ask for a bond. The shower pressure could be better, especially in winter when it’s chilly. I’d bring a small heater for the front room, since the big AC unit in the lounge doesn’t warm that area enough. All up, it was a solid stay and I’d happily come back. This apartment deserved a 4 star rating or more.

The bed was good, and everything was clean and tidy, though this older motel seems better suited to work travelers who mainly need a bed. The shower has a high step, which could be difficult for older people. It looks like refurbishment is underway, so give them time to finish everything.

The kitchen appliances were nice and new, and the apartment itself was spacious. Room 6 was clean, with no mould, comfortable beds, and a nice bathroom. The only small issue was a door that was hard to slide, but it wasn’t a problem. It was cheap, really clean, and check-in was easy at a motel a few places down. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a spacious apartment.
