Bell Hill Apartments

Andrew came by on arrival day to make sure everything was in order, and the care he and Dan took made a big impression on us. We booked Bell Hill Apartments with another couple for a short Dunedin visit after a Central Otago rail trail ride with Bike Sky bikes. The small building has three apartments above ground floor offices, a short walk from the Octagon, restaurants, and Woolies, with parking provided. Our Gaynor Clayton unit had a bright, spacious living and dining area, a well equipped kitchen, two bathrooms with large showers, and a washer and dryer. It was quiet, spotless, and the beds were very comfortable, so we all slept well. The finish was high quality, with heated bathroom floors, plenty of lounge seating, and good kitchen utensils. Breakfast for the first morning was supplied, including milk, eggs, butter, bread, French press coffee, and tea, plus a tasty port for the afternoon. Soon after I booked, Andrew suggested the Stay and Cycle package. Along with accommodation, it included ebikes, ferry transfers from Portobello to Port Chalmers, lunch at Port Chalmers, and ideas for coffee stops on the harbour cycle loop. We chose the Cary’s Bay Hotel from the lunch options, and the lunch was excellent, see separate review. It would have cost about the same to arrange this ourselves, but Andrew handled everything. Totally impressed with Bell Hill Apartments and the service from Andrew and Dan. We'll stay here on our next Dunedin trip.

The apartments are in a handy part of Dunedin for the gallery, cinema, bars, cafes, and shops. There's secure basement parking and a lift to your floor, so you don't have to haul cases upstairs. Inside, everything was carefully planned, beautifully decorated, and furnished, with thoughtful little details that made the trip feel special. We enjoyed the breakfast supplies, soft music when we arrived, and the secure but homely feel. I also had a look around another apartment being prepared for guests, and its individual character stood out too. Bell Hill Apartments felt like a lovely home away from home. Do visit, you won't be disappointed.

On a work trip with a colleague, I stayed in Henry Matthews’ apartment in Dunedin. The manager's clear instructions made check-in and finding things around the apartment easy. It's spacious and well equipped, with two bedrooms, each with a comfortable king-size bed, and two bathrooms with showers. Free onsite parking was handy, and the central location meant we could walk to the Octagon and hospital. A lovely place to stay. I'd definitely return and recommend it.

Dan and Andrew made booking easy, and their instructions were clear. We loved the Henry Matthews apartment, which felt high end without being stuffy, and was so comfortable, from the seating to the beds. The location is unbeatable, with anywhere you'd want to go about five minutes from the front door. We were there for our son's grad and had a flawless dinner in one of the 'vaults' at the Distinction Hotel. An incredible weekend, and we'd never stay anywhere else in Dunedin. Highly recommend!
