This is our second stay, and we’ve had a great time at this holiday park. The campground is quiet, clean and tidy, with shops and a petrol station nearby. There’s also an onsite shop for basic groceries and some very nice takeaways. Booking was easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in our self-contained caravan, so I can’t comment on the rooms or facilities. The fun artwork and quirky wooden characters brighten the place up, and it’s pet friendly too. Highly recommended, enjoy your stay, you won’t be disappointed. Thankyou DHP

We called four days before arriving with a caravan and camper, needing two sites. I was told there were plenty of powered sites and that we could just turn up without giving details. On arrival there were no powered sites, only unpowered ones, and we were told to park anywhere inside the areas marked on the map. With vehicles our size, the spaces were very tight, hard to turn in, and difficult to park because others were outside the lines. It was noisy all night with vans coming and going, even at 3am. The beach is a good walk away, not directly accessible from the campground. We wouldn’t stay here again.

The hosts were very nice, and the bathrooms were clean and tidy, with plenty of toilets and showers. We had a powered site for two nights in early October 2025. There’s a large kitchen and a dining area with seating, and the park is just behind the beach. It’s also well placed for Dunedin, about an easy eight-minute drive to town. For motorhomes, parking directly across the train tracks from Dunedin train station is easiest, then it’s a quick walk over the tracks to the station and city centre. The Albatross Centre is 30 minutes northeast of the park and worth a visit. Both the coastal route and plateau route are among the most scenic drives you’ll ever do.

Our school sports team stayed for the weekend, and the place had everything we could’ve asked for. The kids enjoyed the TV rooms, and the studio and two-bedroom apartments were cozy and well equipped. Staff were all super friendly, accommodating and helpful when we needed them. There’s a playground and other facilities for kids, plus a huge sports field and the beach right nearby. A great, relaxed Kiwi campground experience. I’d recommend it.

The facilities are clean, staff are friendly, and the sites have decent space and some shelter from the wind. It has what you need for a stay, but it feels like there haven’t been any major visible upgrades since around 1990. Compared with Waipu Cove on the North Island, which is a similar size and location, you get better value for money there. This campground is fine, though it could use modernising.
