The location easily gets five stars, with cafes, bars, supermarkets, and the Octagon close by. I loved my stay at The Chamberson, and the room was top quality. The lounge became the spot where everyone met and ate together, and the bed was so good that even though I'm not a great sleeper, I slept soundly. The other facilities were what you'd expect from a top-quality hotel. It felt posh and incredibly comfortable, and I was the envy of people staying elsewhere. I've been lucky enough to stay at a couple of five-star hotels, so I started this one at five stars and took one off for the differences I noticed. In the room, there were only three coffee sachets, one kind of tea, and one type of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I've seen five-star places provide a wider choice and extras like chocolates. Maybe that's not warranted, but I did expect it a bit. The internet was outstanding. The people at reception were fabulous when they were there, but I took off a star because of the reception opening hours. It also felt a little odd that the small reception was on the first floor, since the ground floor seems to have more room for a concierge or tourist and business desk. I loved the room and the people. These are just thoughts from my experience, meant to be helpful, not critical. I wish them all the best.

Daily cleaning was a real highlight, especially as it's not very common in New Zealand. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout, and the hotel sits right in the city center with on-site parking. Parking is paid, but that seems standard and reasonable for the area. We had a very comfortable stay in a high-quality, well-maintained apartment. It was fully equipped for cooking, with a spacious living and dining area and a separate bedroom with a very comfortable bed. We'd definitely recommend it.

The Chamberson was an ideal base for our wedding party, and we spent two nights there after getting married. The rooms had excellent facilities, and Michael and Jackie made us feel very welcome. I'd happily recommend it to anyone after top-notch accommodation in central Dunedin.

Room 306 felt like a New York loft, with beautifully moody decor. I loved my three-night stay: the king-size bed was super comfortable, and everything was quiet, clean, and well appointed. The kitchenette, comfortable couch, and good bathroom were all nice extras. The location is excellent, with great cafes and restaurants right on Stuart St. Remember to note down all the PIN numbers for the hotel and car park in case reception isn't staffed when you arrive. The car park works for small and medium-sized cars. It's a great boutique hotel, and I'd stay again if I came back to Dunedin.

We had an Attic Room for one night, and it suited us perfectly. The location was great, and staying in an old restored building was lovely. The apartment was funky and well equipped, with a comfortable bed and nice linen. We're not used to rooms without windows, but the opening skylight worked well and the block-out blind kept things dark at night. The front desk staff were really informative, and we couldn't fault the stay. We'll be back!
