The fireplace kept everything toasty, and there were lots of games in the lounge. We stayed overnight with our two kids and found the place really homely. The owner was so friendly, and the courtyard was lovely for eating and giving the kids space to play. A delightful spot for a family holiday.

I've been travelling the world for 11 years, and hostels like Annie’s Nirvana Lodge are rare. Allan & Miyuki are funny, charismatic, kind, and very accommodating. With several kitchens, lounges and bathrooms, plus a beautiful garden, it quickly feels like home. No wonder people keep returning. Highly recommend.

The facilities feel dated, and although cleaning seemed pretty thorough, some spots were filthy, including the shower curtains and parts of the kitchen. We also didn't feel comfortable with the hosts, who generally weren't very friendly. The owners charged for small things, like staying in common areas after checkout. The laundry machine is small, and the host said we had an unreasonable amount of washing, which felt like a way to get us to pay for more machine time. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The dorm rooms were tidy, and the backpackers was comfortable. The hosts were lovely and accommodating. We'd be happy to stay again.
