The Innlet, Country Apartments, Cottages and Guesthouse

The hosts, Jonathan & Katie, were so lovely, and we really appreciated the hospitality. The Innlet felt like a place where we could just be ourselves. It was quiet, with a rustic feel inside, and full of thoughtful touches: the fire was lit when we arrived, the electric blankets were on, and there were fresh herbs and lemons by the stove and flowers on the kitchen table. They even brought firewood right to the door. We'd highly recommend staying here.

It was a cute cottage in a lovely setting, and warm enough even on a wild, stormy night. We were three adults, a couple and me, and the single bed wasn't really suitable for an adult. The rustic place felt cramped, though reasonably comfortable. Our tiny bathroom was outside at the end of the deck. We had to open the outer door to get in and out of the shower, and going to the loo during the storm wasn't much fun.

Falling asleep to the stream outside was lovely, and the deck had a great view. I stayed in one of the cottages, and they had warmed my room before I arrived, which was thoughtful. The room was really cute, the beds were relatively comfortable compared with other places I've stayed, and the bedding was good too, with two pillows each, a duvet and a blanket.

We'd definitely stay again if we come up this way. The Innlet made a wonderful overnight stop and a great base for exploring the spit and nearby area. Katie and Jonathan were accommodating hosts and told us the best places to visit, including when to go. That advice was especially useful: we spent half a day watching seals on a nearby beach. The room was chilly at first, but the lovely log fire in the sitting room soon warmed it up. All the facilities were second to none.
