We stopped over here and it worked perfectly for that. The place is centrally located, easy to find parking, and the staff were very friendly and courteous. Our room was large, modern and super clean, with a bathroom and balcony. The breakfast buffet was excellent too.

The rooms have been revamped and were neat, clean and tidy, but the outside looks really tired and run down. There’s no air-conditioning anywhere in the hotel, so you have to leave the balcony door open for air. Your neighbour's door opens onto the same balcony, which means there's no security beyond trusting each other. There was a fan in the room. Breakfast included. Three stars feels about right for what you pay. Reminded me of a time-warp cafe.

Rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and modern basics like free Wi-Fi and tea and coffee facilities. Some have views of the river, which make for a relaxing stay. The Copthorne Hotel Greymouth is right in the heart of Greymouth, handy for local shops, cafés and the nearby Grey River. Comfortable and convenient for a short stop or an overnight stay.

The staff were all nice, and the balcony view from our room was a highlight. My family and I stayed for three days during our West Coast holiday in early January 2026. It was peaceful the whole time, with no noise, and the location was great. The stay really exceeded my expectations. We'll definitely try other Copthorne hotels in other areas.

Breakfast was probably the worst in-house breakfast experience. I waited an hour for a clean cup so I could make tea, then left without one. Service was non-existent and the tables hadn't been cleared or set for guests. The room was outdated and needed repairs, with no ventilation.
