Makepeace Place Homestay

We were two families, four adults and four kids, and didn't feel very safe with a stranger staying in another room. Our rooms were on separate floors, too. The kitchen had only one plate and nowhere near enough cutlery to cook, so we ended up eating from bowls. It made for an uncomfortable stay.

The owner was so friendly, and thanks to Anna for looking after us. Sorry about the broken rice spoon! Our room was spacious, the bathroom spotless, and the little kitchen had everything we needed. We'll definitely come back when we're in Hamilton.

We used the shared kitchen's fridge and microwave, and there were dishes available. It had what we needed for the trip. Our downstairs room was spacious, with a big closet, desk and two chairs, plus a private bathroom with a shower and good pressure. Towels and a hair dryer were supplied, and there were plenty of outlets. It's on a quiet street not far from the city centre. The walls let some noise through, but it never got late enough to interrupt our sleep. Wi-Fi was a little slow and dropped out sometimes. The owner asked us to take off our shoes at the entrance and provided slippers.

We felt right at home, even arriving around 9 pm with two children. They were kind, welcoming and accommodating. We'd come back in a heartbeat!
