The check-in lady was friendly and encouraged us to use the shared areas, which made the setup feel less awkward. It’s a renovated house with locks on the bedroom doors and a shared kitchen, lounge, and bathroom. Cozy, but it still felt like proper accommodation rather than being in someone’s personal space. Each room had its own fridge shelf, already stocked with that room’s breakfast food. The kitchen didn’t smell, there were plenty of fresh, clean towels in the bathroom, and the laundry basket was cleared daily. We had a lovely one-night stay.

We only planned to stay two nights, but ended up staying four. The room was clean, and the hosts were friendly and so helpful. It was convenient for everything we wanted to see and do. We wish Anahera and her family all the best.

Queens Park is really close by, and the city centre is a flat, straight walk of about 15-25 minutes depending on your pace. The host was great at communicating and very hospitable. The bed was comfortable, the room clean, and there was a good selection for a cold breakfast. The shared bathroom and kitchen were fine. Nights were very quiet, though the walls can be a little thin. The airport should be a 5-10 minute fare away. My taxi cost $25, but it might be $30-$35 depending on traffic. I arrived on Christmas Day.

The bedrooms were comfortable and attractive, and breakfast was simple but filling. There are some cute cats who live there, too. The owner is a very nice, helpful person, and all the staff were lovely. We had a great time at Living on Dee and would happily return.

The breakfast was second to none, with cereals, toast, and yoghurt to choose from. Anahera is a wonderful host who keeps Living on Dee tidy and welcoming. The permanent residents were friendly and chatty, which made it easy to settle in. A really warm, inviting stay. Thanks, I’ll see you next time I’m in Invercargill ☆♡☆
