The hosts, Noel and Di, were generous, interesting, helpful and attentive, while still letting us enjoy our space privately. Breakfast included homemade bread in an edwardian dining room. Villa Rouge brought Invercargill into our itinerary, and it exceeded expectations. The fascinating federation house is tastefully furnished with period pieces. We had a large bedroom, a huge bathroom, and our own sitting room with a fireplace, sofa and comfortable chairs. Totally recommend.

Diana and Noel have done an amazing job restoring and fitting out his old home. We really enjoyed our stay in what seems to be an increasingly rare traditional B&B. They're long-time Invercargill residents, and Diana helped us find a very nice restaurant on our first night. Noel set us up with a movie to watch each night. Both hosts were kind, attentive, interested and interesting, and made us feel very welcome. They also provided a lovely breakfast and a few little goodies.

Noel knew the Catlins very well, which helped us make the most of our time there, and Diana pointed us to a great new restaurant. The hosts were charming, the decor beautiful, and there was plenty of space. Breakfasts were good too. Everything you could want at a b&b, and we couldn't have asked for more.

Breakfast was outstanding, especially the perfect poached eggs. Thanks, Noel. Diana and Noel were cosy, welcoming hosts, with lovely attention to detail and nothing too much trouble. What a wonderful B&B. We'd highly recommend Villa Rouge and will be back.

It's an absolutely delightful B&B, beautifully presented, with a wonderful host. Excellent restaurants are an easy walk away. The cooked breakfast was lovely and yummy, with good choices. I highly recommend Villa Rouge B&B.
