White Caps Kaikoura

Indigo has made sure you have what you need, and the view from the mezzanine bed is spectacular. It’s incredibly peaceful between the mountains and the sea, while still near Kaikoura, even though the spot itself feels remote.

Waking up to cows grazing and a beautiful view was a lovely start to the day. The place is peaceful without feeling too far away, and Indigo made us feel so welcome. There’s so much care in the details that it feels like staying at a relative’s home, with games, books, breakfast things, cups, plates and everything else we needed. The decorations fit the relaxed Kaikoura feel, and the photos really don’t do it justice. One of our favourite stays in New Zealand. We’d love to come back.

The house was clean, warm and comfortable, and we were shown around by Indigo, who explained the important house rules. We spent two peaceful nights there, with amazing stars overhead. In the morning, a bright orange sunrise came through the bedroom window, and when we opened it, a cow was right outside giving a gentle moo. The views are stunning. We’ll definitely stay again.

Our first time in Kaikoura was made special by this idyllic spot. The sea views, snow on the mountains and spectacular stargazing were all wonderful. You’ll need a car for town, but it’s an easy ten-minute drive. I’d totally recommend staying here.
