Lake Tekapo Lodge

Our lake-facing room had an amazing view. The place was clean and tidy, comfortable, and well furnished, and the staff were kind and welcoming. We'd definitely come back.

The stay was a real highlight of our once-in-a-lifetime trip to New Zealand. We only had one night, but Stephanie was a wonderful host and told us lots about Lake Tepako. The location was fantastic, with amazing views and just a short walk to town. Everything felt luxurious, from the guest lounge and furnishings to the original artwork and even the cups on the breakfast table. Enjoy your winter break, Stephanie and Alistair.

We got to Tekapo lodge today and found what looked like a building site. The previous owners had left the day before, and the new owners arrived this morning and started knocking down walls. They were still demolishing internal walls at 7 pm. When I spoke to one of them, he just told me to take it up with the travel agent. The new owners were very unhelpful. It's horrendous. If you have a booking soon, I strongly advise cancelling. I would have checked out as soon as I arrived, but there was nowhere else available in lake Tekapo.

The room was lovely and warm on a cold day, with a delightful view of the lake. The bathroom was spotless and perfectly kitted out, and both the bed and robes were so comfortable. All the rooms are in one wing of the lodge, with a guest lounge where you can have drinks and relax on comfortable sofas for a cosy evening. Stephanie welcomed us warmly and showed us around the modern, luxurious lodge. She also gave us helpful suggestions for things to do. Breakfast was delicious, with yoghurt, fruit, and granola as well as a cooked meal with perfectly poached eggs. We absolutely loved our stay with Stephanie at the Lake Tekapo lodge.
