The location is right in Tekapo, and the rooms were clean. The view, though, was poor: out front we saw the parking lot and a street, and out back there were a couple of rubbish and recycling bins. Knowing what I know now, I’d stay somewhere else next time. To me, this place is a rip-off. I booked a one-bedroom apartment months ahead, in June for December, and called to ask specifically about laundry because we were travelling light. I was assured every apartment had one, and the website brochure also said this. When we arrived late at night, check-in meant walking into an unlocked room where the key was on the table. I went to wash my clothes and found no laundry in the apartment. At the office, the manager explained that laundry was shared in the “hotel” and available after 5pm, since the hotel used it during the day. The shared laundry room actually adjoins our apartment, and its door to the parking lot is left open all day. Anyone could walk into the apartment through that room. The owner apologized when I called, but said I could leave if I wanted, while also pointing out that the town was fully booked. That was about all he had to say. After I spoke a bit more with the office manager, she let us use the laundry whenever we wanted. Still, on two occasions when I went to use it, the dryer was full of towels. It felt like using a dorm coin laundry, not the washer and dryer in every unit that I’d been promised, along with a Smart TV with Netflix in the lounge.

A good place to unwind after a long drive. The units are well presented, stocked well, and have a kitchenette, though the views are limited. Brooke, the manager, was really nice and helpful. It’s around 400 metres on foot to town.

Loved the quiet setting among the stars, with easy parking right on site. You can see the golf course and lake from here. The handover of the keys was simple, and the receptionist was friendly and easy to reach. Inside, the rooms felt better than home: great blackout curtains, comfy beds, crisp linen, excellent shower heads, and good Wi-Fi. This is the place to stay in Lake Tekapo!

A spacious, generous apartment with everything you need inside. It’s super modern and comfortable, and the location is good, within walking distance across from the Main Street. Parking is right outside downstairs.

The apartment was a real wow when we walked in. The carpets were soft and clean, the kitchen well equipped, the TVs worked perfectly, and the bed and sofas were comfortable. The toilet was immaculate, well lit, and had a heater. The view was priceless, and the whole place felt peaceful. It’s also convenient for getting into the city. From the time we booked, Tiff replied promptly to my emails and made sure we got an apartment with a view. Tiff and the lovely receptionist, on her Day 1, welcomed us and gave us recommendations for our holiday. The facilities were top notch, and the crew were friendly. This place is truly luxurious, and I’ll definitely be back. As a pet parent, I hope we can enjoy it with our puppy sometime in the future.
