ASURE Green Gables Motel

The room was spacious, clean, well equipped, and the beds were comfortable. It’s an easy walk to a supermarket and close to public transport. Although the property is beside a busy road, traffic noise didn’t bother us at night. We stayed six nights in May 2025 while my daughter had exams at a nearby school. The windows and glass doors run along one whole side of the room, facing parked cars just a path’s width away. It didn’t feel very private unless we kept the curtains shut, which cut down the natural light. The main drawback was the lack of working extraction fans in both the kitchen and bathroom. The room became damp quickly when we showered, boiled the kettle, or cooked, so we left the windows open as much as we could. A fan above the stove and one in the bathroom would help.

The rooms were really clean and tidy, and the staff were exceptional. Excellent stay, with amenities very close by.

Room 5 was fine until I tried to sleep. At 12:30 am I felt paralyzed by a dark entity. I’ve never experienced anything like it, and I was terrified. I pulled down the mirror that faced my bed and told the owner what had happened. I never went back into that room. The owner said no one had ever complained, as if I were lying, though I had no reason to and had never been so scared in my life. She also said people had felt trespassed in that room. When my partner spoke to her the next day, after I’d moved into another room, she denied everything and gave us 20 minutes to pack and leave. Rude people, especially the lady. She didn’t care and wouldn’t refund us. I hope you encounter that entity and go through what I did. Why is that the only hotel room with a Bible?

Leaving in the morning was the best part of our stay. We had room #1, and I wouldn’t consider setting foot on the property again. The kitchen, bathroom, and toilet facilities were the worst of it: 30 to 40 years old, unventilated, musty smelling, bitterly cold with no heater, and totally offensive. The old wall mounted fan heater in the sleeping area was so noisy it kept us awake. One of the three coffee cups still had dried coffee dregs stuck inside, and water from the hot tap turned cloudy and opaque in the jug. The cold tap water was clear by comparison, so something in the hot water system seemed to be contaminating it. The compendium spent a lot of space talking about nearby Police services. Why was that necessary? Maybe the multiple security catches on the windows said enough. The room itself was basic but tolerable apart from those key facilities.
