BK's Pioneer Motel

The staff's care made the biggest impression on me. They were consistently friendly, responsive, and ready to help, and the hospitality felt sincere. Check-in was easy, parking was simple, and everything worked as it should. My room was spotless, modern, and comfortable, with good beds and thoughtful amenities. Even near the airport and main roads, it felt quiet and private. The location is handy for an early flight or a quick trip into the city. BK’s Pioneer Motor Lodge was a great place to settle in after a long travel day. I'd happily return and recommend it to anyone wanting clean, comfortable, reliable accommodation near Auckland Airport.

Leo welcomed us warmly when we arrived in Auckland a little after 9 pm. Even in the dark, he came promptly to pick us up, and everything went smoothly. He was very friendly, and when we got back to the hotel he gave us two bottles of milk, a thoughtful touch. The facilities are very new and well maintained. My favorite part was the lovely courtyard just outside. It's easy to get around from here, and calling a taxi is simple. Staying here made a wonderful start to my Auckland trip. I'd choose it again next time, though I may rent a car myself then.

For a stopover, this was good value, with large modern rooms and comfortable beds. The bus collected me from the airport at 1.30 am, and the ride to the motel was quick. Staff were friendly. I'd have given five stars, except they put me on the top floor. As a woman on my own with a large suitcase, I had to drag it up and down the stairs because there's no elevator 😵‍💫😵‍💫

The room was nice and clean, and Leo at reception was genuinely helpful and professional. Sadly, the overall stay was terrible. I wouldn't recommend this place if you need sleep. Everything was fine until about 11:30pm, when guests upstairs started walking around, moving things, and thumping across the floor. I had a 5am departure and was already in bed, but couldn't switch off. At 12:50am the noise was still going, so I called reception on my own phone because there was no in-room phone. Leo politely said he'd speak to them, and I heard him go upstairs. It quieted briefly, then started again and continued until around 3:30am. The irony is that traffic from the nearby main road was barely noticeable, but every step and scrape from upstairs carried through the poor flooring. I used earplugs to get some rest, slept through my wake-up, and missed the 5am airport shuttle. No one was at reception when I asked about the next one, and the emergency number went unanswered, even though the place advertises 24/7 reception and airport service. I had to pay $18 for an Uber to the airport.
