The views here are marvellous, and the food, bar, and staff were all great. Our ensuite room needs attention, though: the basin was coming away from the wall and had taps like a public toilet. The shared kitchenette was grubby and had no tea, coffee, or cups. It could be a lovely overnight country pub getaway with some investment and new ownership. I’d love to give it five stars and come back once it’s been cared for.

The old hotel is beautiful, and the view from the front verandah is lovely. The showers and toilet areas were clean, but the rest of the facilities were disappointing. Our room hadn't been cleaned, and the stained bedspread hadn't been changed. There weren't any coffee cups at first; when someone brought some, they were so dirty that she looked embarrassed.

The beer was good, and I liked the old-school bar and its decor. There's even a huge parrot in there. We didn't eat. I gave it three stars because the woman working behind the bar made us feel like a nuisance. No greeting, just a scowl and a grunt. This was Sunday 18th jan, 3pm.

We got takeaway from the restaurant. The burgers were amazing, and I loved how they were presented.

The room was clean and the bed was good. It's not a fancy place, especially the bathroom, but the price is right and the pub and parrot are conveniently close. The staff were great too. I left something behind, and they found it for me promptly. So good!
