Gateway Motor Inn

We felt unsafe after two women used a key to unlock and try to enter our room at 4:50am on the second night of our three-night stay. The key had been taken from an unsecured area in Reception. When we reported it, Management first blamed us and said we’d left the door unlocked, even though we told them a key had opened it. We pushed for a CCTV check, and it showed the two women trying to get in. Management seemed more concerned about missing stock than the possible physical danger to us and other guests. We asked for a refund for the disturbed second night and the third night we no longer felt safe staying. Management refused to refund the second night and offered a “free” night at some future time instead. We’ll never stay at this motel again. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I stayed in Great Sensations and loved the named rooms instead of room numbers. There’s plenty of parking, and the bay doors in my room opened right onto a car park. My bed was so good I wanted to take it home, and the shower pressure was incredible. I also had a small private outdoor spot to relax in. The proprietors were lovely and checked on me when I was sick for a couple of days. There’s a Pokémon Gym out front too, which is fun for Pokémon Go fans. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The place is pretty outdated, but I think that’s part of its charm, and anyone who loves horses would enjoy it. We had a lovely stay, with a comfortable bed, clean facilities, and a very quiet room. They were happy to let us check in early. I’d definitely come back.

They let us check in 35 minutes early without charging extra, which I really appreciated. The hospitality was wonderful, the location was great, and the facilities were amazing. All the room doors were open while I was being shown to ours, so I got to peek into the other rooms. It felt like a safe, lovely place to stay. I look forward to returning, and thank you for providing such a welcoming space.
