We got stuck at Nelson airport when our flight to Wellington was cancelled. The owners picked us up for free and had a room ready with a cot for our baby, all with only five minutes’ notice. They were the greatest, and the motel is conveniently located. I’d happily stay here whenever I visit Nelson.

Check-in was easy, the location was good, and the staff were genuinely helpful and friendly. We had a clean, comfortable room at Amber Court Motel and a great experience. I’d stay again.

It was our last night of a weeklong trip around the South Island, and I’d specifically booked a Family Spa Unit for the spa bath. At check-in we found we’d been moved to a two bedroom unit with no bath. They explained that booking.com had overbooked the rooms, which I understand was outside their control, and that they were trying to compensate us. Still, I’d have appreciated a call, message or email before check-in so we could’ve had a chance to book elsewhere. It was a very disappointing end to the trip.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and we really appreciated the airport shuttle. The location is near Tahunanui Beach and the airport, with Bus Route2 serving Nelson City and the Richmond side.

Liana’s local knowledge was much appreciated, and the whole team was friendly during our stay. Great service, a large room and pet friendly too. We’ll be back.
