The only drawback was the gym facilities, or lack of them. Otherwise, we'd definitely come back and highly recommend it. We stayed three nights with the family over New Year's. The location was great and reception service was good. Our room was a really good size, with two large double beds, which were comfortable, and clean linen. The white towels were lovely and soft. There were two windows we could open, a spacious bathroom with a shower over the spa bath, plenty of hot water and good shower pressure. It also had a good-sized TV, mini fridge and good tea and coffee facilities. We had a fantastic breakfast at the hotel restaurant one morning. It's a lovely restaurant, the waiter gave amazing service, and the meals were nicely presented, generous and tasty.

The only thing I could fault was the limited onsite parking. Otherwise, it's a decent hotel and great value for money. The property was in an awesome spot for the Festival of Lights, with a BP right across the street and a Z just up the road. The shuttle terminal for the festival was a convenient four-minute walk away. The staff member who checked us in was extremely helpful. I had a twin studio with two double beds and a portacot, and there was still plenty of room to move around. The bathroom was extremely clean, the shower pressure was faultless, and the beds were very comfortable.

The room I'm in isn't in as good an order as on my previous stays at Distinction New Plymouth. I raised my concern and it was fixed very quickly, thank you. Over the past month I've been very pleased with the service. The restaurant is great, and the staff are always welcoming and accommodating. Thanks, Distinction New Plymouth!

This was our second time staying here, and we’ll be back again. We’ve been able to walk to most of the places we wanted to visit, and the location is amazing. The room was great, and all the staff were so lovely and welcoming.

The restaurant was a real highlight, with lovely food and good service, and the hotel is handy for town. The room was okay, though it looked tired, and the limited parking means you’ll want to get in early. It’s not somewhere I’d pick for a romantic weekend. Would I return? I’m not sure, especially since this was my first stay.
