Aqua On Reed

I could barely sleep all night. The beds were unstable and creaked when I turned, and the pillows were high and hard enough to leave me with bad neck pain. The carpet was dirty, the floor sticky, and the old furniture and facilities felt dated throughout the house. When I plugged in the heater pump to warm the bedroom, the plug exploded in my hand with a horrible sound and burned my hand black. I washed it several times, but my palm was left bruised and painful. I was completely freaked out. This was the most disappointing place I've stayed in New Zealand, and it wasn't worth the price.

The hilltop location is lovely, with views over the township and ocean, and the holiday house has heaps of potential. But the rooms need to be cleaner: there were dead bugs on the window sills, and the bathroom ceiling was cracked and moldy. One of the back entrance doors wouldn't lock. We couldn't find the wifi password, and the owners didn't reply for over 12 hours after we asked. What a pity.

We had a lovely two-night stay, with no faults from our point of view. The beds were our highlight, so comfortable. The house was spotless, with such a nice and unique space, and communication with Michele (owner) was quick and easy.

The view was wonderful, and the home felt welcoming. Each room had a heater and electric blanket, and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were big bottles of Pantene shampoo and conditioner in the shower. It's close to town, and we'd love to stay again. The decor was lovely too.
