Distinction Coachman Hotel, Palmerston North

I needed a room at midnight, and Chris came through with excellent customer service. My room had parking right outside, and the pool was across the way, though I didn't use it. The carpet was so soft and cushioned, it felt lovely just stepping inside. The bed was very comfortable, and the spacious shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Highly recommend!

It was okay for one night, but I wouldn't call it a great stay. The room was new, clean and tidy, yet still didn't feel nice. As a couple, we kept bumping into each other in the small, windowless space. The shower felt claustrophobic, and even the parking spaces were too tight. A power outlet by the table would have helped.

We were exhausted after eight hours of travel and in a real bind when I called Coachman Hotel at 1am. Chris was incredibly kind and managed to get rooms for my partner, the kids and me, even though it was a difficult time with storm cancellations. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and better than we expected. Thanks again, Chris. We'd recommend Coachman Palmerston North to anyone.

The restaurant meals were delicious. I stayed in a newly renovated room upstairs and liked the backlit mirror feature, but the bathroom setup could be better. A longer mirror inside the cupboard door would help, and the basin and mirror placement made it hard to style my hair or see what I was doing. After the renovation, the bathroom floor also needed a thorough clean. My white bath mat turned black after I showered, and the shower door was missing its rubber splash guard. I passed these suggestions and observations on to the staff.
