Awatea Park Motel

We’ve stayed here a few times as a family and are very happy with the service under the new owners. Having air conditioning in every room now is great, and the place feels like a home away from home. We’ll be back!

Some units seem to have been freshened up with new carpet and a SmartTV, which was a nice surprise. My room had a small kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, rice cooker (I think!) and basic cutlery, plus good shower pressure. The rooms are simple, but have what you need, and I’ve found Awatea Park Motel good value on previous stays too. The owners gave me a friendly welcome, check-in was easy, and they were happy to help with anything. The motel is well lit and set back from the road. Fitzherbert Avenue gets busy, as you'd expect on one of the main routes into the city, but some rooms look onto Awatea Park for a peaceful outlook. Thanks for a great stay. I'll definitely return!

The views from our place were lovely, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We stayed with family last weekend and found the accommodation tidy, with lots of extras like air conditioning, a floor fan and electric blankets. We'd definitely come back as a family. 10/10, would recommend.

I go to different places to help people find affordable spots to eat, visit and stay, and I think it’s important to share that kind of information. Awatea Park Motel is a nice, tidy place with lots of rooms and games rooms, and I’d recommend it. My room had a double bed, plus two single beds in a separate room with a bathroom. It was clean and had what I needed, including a TV with Sky and Netflix movies, a fridge, and a little kitchen stocked with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sugar and a small bottle of milk. The room could be bigger, and the mattress wasn’t great for my back. Prices weren’t too bad, though, and the service came with a smile.
