We booked two rooms for a family event in Auckland and had a lovely overnight stay. There was plenty of parking out front, and amenities were close by. Getting my 20kg suitcase up and down the stairs was the one hassle. Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Handy for Middlemore Hospital, with Hunters Mall, food outlets, and a supermarket just 100m away. There's free off-street parking, and the room had a microwave, dishes, glassware, a fridge, and a TV with some Sky channels. It was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly, and there was good hot water. Room service came daily with fresh towels, and the sheets were changed every second day.

The friendly enough service couldn't make up for how disappointing this stay was. We left early after one problem after another, and I wish I'd paid more attention to the reviews before booking. Our first room, beside the attached Indian restaurant, smelled awful. There were food spills on the nightstand, stains on the carpet, and food under the bed. The next room smelled like vanilla, but the closet wasn't properly built: an air vent took up space, and the piece of wood covering it wasn't attached and fell off. In the third room, wet, sticky stuff covered the bedroom side of the bathroom door and reached the ceiling. The carpet was stained there too, but we tried to make do. The next morning, I ran the shower for seven minutes without getting hot water. Reception told us to wait for housekeeping, who wouldn't be on shift for another 20 minutes. After about half an hour of trying, the hot water finally came through. We were extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. The customer service was fine, but it didn't make the repeated problems outside our control acceptable. I hope this helps someone else avoid the same mistake.
