Quest Petone

The room was a nice size, but that was the one positive. The shower curtain had mold all over it, and we could hear water from the room beside us when they used their bathroom during the night. Don’t use a spare duvet, they’re full of stains. The mess was obvious as soon as we drove through the gates to park. A pet cat was sitting beside old beds and furniture, which wasn’t a great entrance. The hallway smelled overwhelmingly of pee on the way to our room.

The room and the sheets and towels were clean, but the bath soap and shampoo were empty, with only the conditioner full. There was an espresso machine, but just one coffee tab. The service was horrible. The elevator was dirty with spilled drinks and liquid splashed on the buttons. The toilet paper had already been used, and they hadn’t put out a new one for the next guest. The hallway was heavily sprayed with strong air freshener to keep the curry smell out. They need a proper cleaning team to keep their stars.

The beds were really comfortable, the shower was good, and I had a little view of the beach. It’s in a great spot just off Petone’s main street, a short walk from the beach, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets.

Quest Petone is centrally located just off Petone's main st, so it’s easy to get to the local places to eat in the evening. It’s only a few minutes’ drive to Lower Hutt and a few more to East Coast Bays. The rooms are quiet, well featured and very pleasant.
