Owls Nest Motel

The eight of us stayed at The Fat Owl Motel while traveling to Americana. We got in on Tuesday, before the bar and eatery open from Wednesday, but the team still put together a lovely meal for everyone. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. We couldn’t speak highly enough of the food or the friendly service. Thanks to the team at The Fat owl for such an enjoyable stay. When we pass through Poipoi again, we’ll definitely stay here.

A bit of noise from the bar carried through on Friday night, though it seemed to settle around 11pm. Apart from that, this was a great motel in every way.

The steak was absolutely delicious, and the other dishes coming out looked just as tempting. Portions were a good size and well worth the price. The place felt very cosy, and everyone was really friendly.

We only needed a room for an impromptu night, and this small, clean, cosy one had everything we needed. The warm welcome and helpful staff stood out, especially when our vehicle broke down. They also had secure parking options. Outside was peaceful, and the restaurant next door had a cool rural look, with chandeliers and decor I loved. The menu was tempting and the food was great. Such a lovely bunch of people doing a great job. Thank you for the kind hospitality.
