The location is hard to argue with, close to the beach and pub, near the lagoon and the start of the walks, and about 1km from the pancake rocks. It was a bit overpriced in my view, but the place was clean and well maintained, even if a little dated. With lots of back Packers staying there, the showers could mean a wait. Free WiFi was useful because mobile phone reception in the house was difficult. On a warm evening, take a cold beer up to the balcony.

The bunk-bed room was what you'd expect for budget accommodation, with floor space for bags and not much else. The kitchen had good facilities and cutlery, and the beach was a short walk away for sunset. The pub next door serves some good food, but there's nowhere else to eat within walking distance, and it takes last orders arund 8.30pm.

We had the place all to ourselves under a magic starry sky. It's a great little find, with a huge lounge, a deck, and three big kitchens that were well supplied and maintained. The beach is just stones through, and there's a tavern next door. Rocks and walking tracks are a short stroll away, with a camp store across the road.

The kitchen was reasonably well stocked, but that's about the only good thing I can say. I was only told where to check in because someone happened to let me know. The whole house smelled weird, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. It also didn't seem very well looked after. A bit sad to see.
