Punakaiki Beach Camp

We had a powered campervan site with lovely views, a cosy spot and easy beach access. It made a great base for exploring Punakaiki and Paparoa National Park. The campground was peaceful, spotless and well kept, with helpful, friendly staff and shared facilities that included a fully equipped kitchen, laundry and comfortable bathrooms. It’s a relaxed, welcoming place for anyone who likes the outdoors. The beachfront location puts you steps from the sand, with easy walks to the beach, river and nearby Pancake Rocks & Blowholes. We had an amazing stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommend it for a visit to New Zealand’s West Coast.

Unbelievable views, and the little food shop was a treat. The two guys there were hilarious. Staff were warm, friendly and helpful throughout. The vibe, people and location were all top tier. Best campground we’ve ever stayed at, and we’ll certainly be back. Thanks for a great stay!

We’ve stayed in a couple of their accommodation options recently, and this is the best site we’ve been to. The setting is beautiful, with great views, and there’s loads to do, from walks and kayaking to paddle boarding and stone carving. So much fun. The staff were friendly and knew their stuff. There’s also a coffee van and white bait patties on site. Highly recommend!

The riverfront cottage was cute and private for our night, but it got hot inside and we couldn’t open the doors or windows because of the sandflies. The bed was really bouncy. A screen would help. Honestly, I’d have slept more comfortably in a tent.
