Malones Motel

The beds were very comfortable, the shower had great pressure, and the Wi-Fi was good. It had everything we needed for a really nice stay. The only thing I'd change is adding a curtain or blind to the door by the hot tub area. Light came through early and woke us up.

Sarah and her team were friendly and efficient, and we'd happily come back. Of the places I've stayed in Rotorua, this is my favourite for families. The town and supermarkets are about a five-minute drive away. We booked two One Bedroom Spa Units for three nights. Both were clean and spacious, with everything we needed. It was very hot during our visit, so being able to fill the spa with cold water and cool off was wonderful. Each unit had a kitchenette, a table with four seats, a couch that folded into a bed, and parking right outside. One room had two queen beds; the other had one queen and two single beds. There was also a laundry. For $10 per load, we could use the washer and dryer, and detergent and softener were provided.

I needed a room for a few days for reasons I can't share, and the staff deserve credit for making it a good stay. Reception was so welcoming, and the price was great. When I saw my room, I was wowed. It was clean, tidy, smelled nice, and felt homely. It had more than I needed. Well done to the staff at Matlones Motel.

I travel to Rotorua for work now and then and always book a room with a private spa at Malone's Motel. It's affordable, in a peaceful, handy location, and the hosts are lovely. My rooms have always been clean.
