We almost booked two nights, but the listing photos looked out of date, so we stayed somewhere else the first night while we figured out our Rotorua plans. We took a chance on this motel for night two and the studio apartment worked well for my family and me. Staff were kind and helpful, and the bed was comfortable. My kids used the spa and liked soaking in it, though it was a bit noisy. I skipped it myself. The place is dated and worn in spots, but it was still tidy, clean and comfortable for what we needed. It could use recycling facilities, and it looks like the owners are trying to update some areas. We paid $87 for the night, which was very affordable, possibly a last minute special. For a short stay, it suited us. Don't judge it by its cover, it's better than many backpackers I've stayed in for more money, where I had to share the kitchen and bathroom.

It was an alright place for a getaway, and the price felt fair for the condition. The room I had was missing a piece of one door, and the deck by the spa was uneven. Not every room has a spa. One of my relatives was in a room called a "studio" that had no fridge and a TV that didn't work. Three stars for us.

A good budget option, and pets are allowed. Communication from management was excellent. The rooms are very run down and badly need renovations, but they're apartment-like, with plenty of space and beds for bigger families. There's a kitchen and bathroom, rooms upstairs and downstairs, and a private outdoor spa.

We weren't happy with the room for what we paid. There were silverfish all through the shower, which was disgusting, and we couldn't get the spa door open. Definitely won't stay here again. Very disappointing.

The motel owner was a nice person, but the stay was disappointing. The in-room spa never got hot, so we couldn't use it, even though it was the main reason we chose the place. We also left without breakfast rather than wait any longer, although we stayed until 9am.
