Russell Top 10 Holiday Villas

You’re close to town and the famous Long Beach, which makes the location handy. The park feels dated, so don’t come expecting flashy or modern facilities. It’s a basic place, with a relaxed park atmosphere and water views.

We had serious problems during our stay. A water outage started the previous evening, but we weren’t officially told until 9:37 the next morning, by which time the toilets were full of excrement. A water standpipe broke at our site and nearly went through my son’s tent while he was asleep inside. That could have had very serious consequences. The unpowered sites are tiny and a long trek from the dated toilets and kitchen. Fridge space is inadequate, with a 'first come, first in' policy and no backup when it’s full. One of the two large toasters was broken but still left in the kitchen. Children aged 15 and over are charged as adults, though there’s nothing for older teens to do except watch TV. This place is overpriced, the sites are too small, and the facilities are dated and lacking. It’s a clear case of profit being put ahead of people and their enjoyment. We’ll never use Top 10 sites again. 21/1: What a bizarre reply from the manager. It’s completely baseless. I only spoke with staff twice: when we arrived, I was unhappy but accepted that there were no other pitches available and left, and briefly on our departure morning, when I went straight to the office to report the post nearly landing on my son’s tent. There was nothing but normal customer interaction. My partner and daughter checked out while I sat in the car outside. You’re shifting blame when there isn’t any and being dishonest to justify the unjustifiable.

Our villa was beautifully clean, had everything we needed and came with a gorgeous view. The staff at Russell Top 10 were friendly and helpful, with lots of recommendations for us. It’s only a short walk into town and to the beach. We had the best time, and the campground staff made our Russell visit amazing. Thanks so much to all of them.

It was really busy when we went just after New Year’s, but we never had to wait for a shower. The utilities were great and well maintained. Such an easygoing place in a great location. We’ll be back.
