21 Hampton - Matakana Coast

We spent four nights at Snells Beach Motel over Christmas and were very pleased with our stay. The rooms were spacious and large, the staff friendly, and the setting stunning. It's an older motel, but clearly well maintained, with plants and flowers all around. Our room was impressively clean too. Recommended.

It was peaceful at night, and I slept well with the quiet surroundings. The room was tidy and the unit had the basics, though my bedding had a few stains. I hope that was just a one off. There is a big Four Square supermarket nearby, along with plenty of takeaway places, a bistro, and Snells Beach. Leigh and Matakana are also an easy commute. I'd stay again.

We really appreciated being moved from the one bedroom with sofa bed we booked to an available two bedroom unit. The beds were comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the shower was excellent. The heat pump was a bonus. Friendly staff and a great location made for a very good stay, and I'd happily return. If you're sensitive to noise, you may hear people moving around upstairs. The wifi was usable for what I needed, but a bit slow, so it may not suit long video calls.

I stayed for a month, and the rooms and staff were top notch. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and my room felt cozy, with utensils, basic cooking supplies, a hotplate, fridge, microwave, toaster, and electric kettle. There was enough parking, too. A shoutout to the housekeeper who kept my room clean. The only reason this would not get five stars is that the wifi didn't work properly.
