If you don't know farm life, this place will be a real treat. It's a different kind of stay, rustic and full of interest. The girls have done a wonderful job, and Bunnie, the grandfather, has plenty of history and information to share. Thanks for the experience. We'll be back.

A quiet getaway with an amazing location. The hosts are friendly and respect your privacy, and there are lots of interesting walks. Awa Stone is close by for dinner, and Taihape is only 20 minutes away for supplies.

The historic Shearers Quarters made for an amazing rural getaway on a working farm, just what we look for when escaping the city. The farm animals, especially the horses, were so friendly and came right up close, which made the experience awesome for the kids. The hosts were lovely, friendly, and full of interesting conversation. I'd return in a heartbeat and highly recommend this stunning place.

Quiet, warm and clean, with lovely scenery, starry skies, cute farm animals and perfect hosts. It's a cosy stop between Auckland and Wellington, just a few minutes off State Highway. Family-run and operating for many years, it still feels like a hidden gem. A good place to stop while driving across the North Island, or to spend a few days offline and in nature while still having some creature comforts. Highly recommend.

A remote spot, and a perfect first stop on our cycling trip. The old shearers accommodation has been done up very nicely. We had a fantastic home-cooked meal made almost entirely with farm and local produce, and the hosts were extremely warm and friendly.
