Fantail B&B

The views were amazing, the bed was comfortable, and everything was very clean. Breakfast was really good too. Klaas was a fantastic host and even drove us into town and picked us up one evening. We'd highly recommend Fantail B and B.

The space was beautiful, incredibly clean, and had an amazing view. Klaas and Annetta were so kind and went out of their way to look after me, including giving me a lift into town when I had no transport. The breakfasts were delicious. It's a gorgeous place in Tairua and a terrific B and B. I highly recommend staying here, and we'll definitely come back.

We'd love to come back and spend more time in this amazing house. Our first trip to Tairua turned out to have this place as the highlight of our Easter long weekend. We booked the room with a sea view. It had a separate lounge upstairs, and aside from the shared entryway, the rest of the space was private. The bedroom balcony, lounge, shower, and room were all extremely clean. The online photos are a little out of date, as the hosts said they keep cleaning and renovating to maintain the house. The guest area had a small tea and coffee room with a microwave and fridge, plus a TV in the cute lounge and several electronic candles that caught our eye. There was no cooking facility, but everything else we needed for a comfortable stay was there. Linen, a hairdryer, and shower items including hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner were provided. The house is tucked partway up the hill, near the base of the Mt Pack Summit lookout, which made for a nice morning walk. It's easy to recognize, and parking may be available in front of the garage. Breakfast was beautifully presented: granola with mixed berries and yogurt, homemade brown bread, eggs, and tomatoes roasted in the oven for over 1.5 hours. We enjoyed it with tea and filter coffee and an ocean view. We'd also like to thank Klass. We didn't talk much with his wife because she was often out doing different kinds of exercise. Klass gave us plenty of privacy and checked in when he could to make sure we were comfortable. We enjoyed our morning chats and the stories we shared. I have a background in luxury hotel services, and this place exceeded my expectations. The shower, room, lounge, and balcony were all extremely clean.

It was our first visit to Tairua, and even though the weather didn't cooperate, Klaas and Annetta made our stay wonderful. The apartment was spectacular, with lovely views, a great layout, excellent housekeeping, and plenty of provisions. Breakfast was hotel quality. Klass was incredibly helpful whenever we needed something, while otherwise giving us room to enjoy the space. I'd absolutely recommend the accommodation and hospitality.
