Lou greeted us with a smile and was so friendly and helpful. Her advice made it easier to figure out the best way to see the Tasman coast. The whole estate is immaculate, and the coastal views were so good we were happy to stay on site. Just outside our room, the swimming pool was great, and the warm sauna and jacuzzi felt like a treat on a chilly evening. Windhover Suites made the Tasman coast a highlight of our first trip to New Zealand. We’re so glad we stayed!

Windhover feels wonderfully removed from the high season crowds, even when other places are packed. We loved it! Set in a large olive plantation, it has only a small number of rooms. Four are by the sea, while an equal number are up the hill, looking over gardens, ponds, the sea, and the dramatic, gorgeous coastline. We loved swimming in the infinity pool with views of the olive trees and sea, and the place made a perfect base for us. Aiden and Lou manage it. We spoke more with Lou, who’s instantly likable, and the whole place is run to a high standard.
