Quest Taupo Serviced Apartments

The room was a decent size and the bed was comfortable, but it got warm and stuffy at night because the windows wouldn't open. We had to sleep with the air conditioning running. The staff were lovely, though, really friendly, welcoming, and helpful the whole time.

The lake view was lovely, and it was an easy short walk to the main street. We had two apartments connected by a shared foyer, with plenty of space, a comfortable bed and couch, and a kitchenette stocked with what we needed, including a dishwasher. There was also a washer and dryer in the bathroom. Staff were helpful and even carried our bags upstairs. It would have been nice to open a window, but we'd stay again.

The bathroom in my studio had a strong stale-water smell. Management moved me to a spacious one-bedroom suite, which had no odor and worked well for a short stay. If they sort out the smell in the studios, this hotel would be great.

The room was okay, but for the price I expected a better standard. There aren't any lifts, so keep in mind that getting to an upstairs room means quite a hike. Checking in after 4 pm, when they're considered to be after hours, was a nightmare. They seemed short staffed, and given how guests are treated, I can see why. It felt like a backpackers' hostel dressed up as suites.
