Lynne & Jim made us feel welcome right away, with tea and delicious snacks when we arrived, then a lovely breakfast each morning. The views were great and the bed was super comfortable. We had a fabulous time and will be back. Thanks for having us!

The lodge was quiet, clean, and lovely, and we really enjoyed our time there. Breakfast was excellent, and Lynne and Jim's hospitality made our family holiday special. We're grateful for the memories they helped create. Wish we were still there!

Lynne and Jim seemed to understand what my partner and I needed without us having to say a word, and made us feel at home straight away. I'm not usually comfortable staying in a stranger's home, but their natural warmth and ability to connect with guests made this memorable. We enjoyed their company so much that we almost didn't want to leave for dinner. The beds and bathroom were good, and breakfast was delicious. Their grace and adaptability stand out among places we've stayed in New Zealand and overseas. We felt as if we'd spent time with treasured old friends. Lynne and Jim took time to hear what we wanted and gave us helpful ideas for things to do. It's a lovely, peaceful place to stay when visiting Taupo, and only a very short drive into town to watch the sunset.

We only got to spend two nights at Rive Gauche, which was a shame because we could happily have stayed a week. Lynne and Jim are wonderful hosts, and their beautiful home is truly exceptional.
