Waitomo Farmstay

The two owners made this stay unforgettable. When I was nearly left on my own in a difficult situation, they stepped in and helped so much. They were kind, supportive, and generous, and their warmth meant more than I can say. It was one of the best encounters I've ever had, and I won't forget their kindness. The farm was beautiful, peaceful, and well kept, a lovely place to relax. Everything was very clean. My room was a bit older, but that suited the charm of the place and made it feel more authentic and cosy. A truly wonderful 10 out of 10 stay. Huge thanks again for everything.

It's basic and rustic, but in a great way, and a total bargain if you don't expect the world. Think campground with simple cabins, toilets, and showers, not a fancy holiday park. The shared kitchen and sitting areas were really good, and there's even a washing machine. Quaint and nice, highly recommend.

The place has a unique look, and I enjoyed my time here. There was hot water in both the shower and kitchen, plus fast wifi and warm blankets. I'd definitely recommend staying here for a countryside experience.

The host was very responsive, even when people checked in late. We knew from the pictures this wouldn't be glamorous, and there aren't many reviews, so I wanted to share what we found at Fantail Cabin 6. It has two single beds and nothing else. The mattresses were very soft, and the bed linen was fairly clean but old. There's no heating, though there are lots of blankets, and you might want to use your sleeping bag anyway. The common area with the check-in desk, kitchen, and tables isn't heated, so it got quite cold there. There were lots of spider webs and a bad smell. The kitchen did the job, but we only heated up some food. The bathrooms and toilets are unheated too. The showers were hot, but not very clean. If you're travelling on a budget, it's a bed to sleep in and somewhere to heat food, but it's far from comfortable or clean.
