The host was so friendly, and Andy went incredibly out of his way to help locate our luggage at Auckland Airport. It still hadn’t arrived after seven days, though it was supposed to be forwarded to us. Many thanks again for your hospitality and support. We stayed in a lovely garden full of all kinds of fruit trees, and had a delicious, carefully prepared breakfast in a tastefully decorated dining room.

Sally was a lovely, friendly staff member and made us feel very welcome at this little guesthouse. We stayed in the green room, which is almost like a barn but comfortably appointed, with all mod cons, including a microwave and streaming services on the TV. The weather wasn’t great, so we couldn’t stroll around the gardens, though they looked beautiful. In the morning, we had an absolutely delicious home cooked breakfast.

We had a really enjoyable stay in a clean, comfortable unit with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There was plenty of room for two couples, and we each had privacy.

The meals were delicious, including dinner, dessert and breakfast, and Andy was a fantastic host. I’d highly recommend Lupton lodge. It’s a quick 17 minute drive to the middle of Whangārei, and well worth it for the peaceful, safe location. The place has old world charm, wooden features and stained glass windows, along with a comfy bed, great shower pressure, an in room kitchen and dining area, and an amazing deep claw foot bath.

Andy’s service was excellent, and the cooked breakfast was delicious. I’d highly recommend staying at Lupton Lodge. The place was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a good shower with excellent water pressure.
